Yesterday was not my day.

I work for a non-profit in Frederick, MD and yesterday our organization was the lucky recipient of 20% of an entire day's food profit at Brewer's Alley Restaurant.

So I spent most of the day (and night) at the restaurant playing hostess.  Greeting guests, telling them about our organization

I did something tonight I haven’t done in F O R E V E R! I ate a spoonful of peanut butter covered in sugar. Amazing!

Being a girl, I’ve pretty much been on a diet most of my life so I try to restrain myself from things that I know for certain will trigger all-out binges. You

Vegetables + Tiny Ninja = Extreme Happiness. Truthfully, I’ve never been so happy about vegetable consumption before. But tonight my little Ninja decided he wanted broccoli. And he freakin’ ate it! (Insert Heavenly chorus here…)

My Ninja doesn’t eat broccoli.

Disgusting.  I am warning you now - I am going to gross you out.

I spent my 4th of July with the people that I love doing what I love the most - eating.

I ate and I ate.  I ate hamburgers and hot dogs and pasta and chips.  Cookies.  Cake.  Pie.  Fruit salad.  Flan.  Cheesecake.  Dirt pie.  (Sensing

(You gotta check out the adorable picture at the end...!)

Lunchtime every single day is a MAJOR stressor in my life. My 15 month old has several severe food allergies. Luckily, she ISN'T allergic to wheat or gluten (which would eliminate just about every food on the planet, or so it would seem!) But, she is allergic to soy, eggs, nuts, tree nuts, carrots, and now we suspect broccoli.

Anyway, all these allergies make it extremely challenging to add variety into her diet

This weekend, it is just me and the girls. The house is soooo quiet! That's because my husband took both boys and went with our church youth group to the Acquire the Fire conference in Baltimore. They left around 4 pm this afternoon in order to be there in time for the opening ceremony. I called my husband around 11:15 pm tonight (I was looking for a particular book). Anyway, he didn't

I am not a good mom.  Seriously not.  I fail where others triumph.  I try.  I do.  Sometimes the battle just overwhelms me and I cave.  My biggest failure - food.

So after much discussion with friends, doctors, relatives and the like, I have come to understand that being a good mom means that you should feed your kids a well balanced

As many of you who have read my blog know, I lived overseas in Australia for 7 years away from my family. And thankfully, my husband's family is AWESOME and they took such great care of me. (I definitely could not have survived over there without them - it's so important to have a support system and they are absolutely the BEST!)

And now, here I am with so many "supports"
