Ten Years Ago

Wedding1.jpgIt was a beautiful, hot summer's day in Frederick. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express with my mom, my little sister and my good friend Licia from San Diego. I went to get my hair done and forgot my veil! (Probably one of the only hiccups on the day!)

I enjoyedplanning my wedding. It was a fun, fairly stress-free time for me. And to see it all come together was enjoyable. As I watched the girls all get "done up" I remember just soaking in the moment.

We got married at the chapel at Hood College - so beautiful. The ceremony itself was simple and before I knew it, it was done and we were walking up the aisle! And did I mention that Ashley's sister Elisha was our "best man"!! Awesome...I loved that.

There were two things people recommended to me to do: (1) get a videographer and (2) get a horse-drawn carriage from Hood to the Delaplaine. I am so happy that I decided to do both. First, the videographer captured so many things that I had no idea occured! Funny, sweet moments. And the 25 minute carriage Carriage.jpgride through downtown Frederick was one of the best things. It gave Ash and I the chance to relish in the moments...it was quiet. People came outside to wave at us as we passed by (and Bev almost broke her nose trying to wave to us as she didn't realize her window was up)!!!

The reception went by too quickly to even remember anything - except that the food was amazing and I danced all night. Oh, and once again, I had everyone around me that I cared about...a quick side-note: A HUGE thank you to my little sister, Cory for sharing her birthday with my wedding day!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Sistah!!

Simply put - the day was perfect for Ash and I.
